Buddy the donkey was called to the stand. "He stared at the jury, the picture of a gentle, well-mannered creature and not the loud, aggressive animal he had been accused of being." (AP News)
His owner, Gregory Shamoun, faced off with a neighbor, John Cantrell, who claimed the ass couldn't keep its mouth shut.
"They bray a lot any time day or night. You never know when they're going to cut loose," he testified.
But it didn't stop there... Buddy was also accused of creating unsightly and pungent manure piles. (The nerve of that donkey!)
Luckily for all parties, the suit was settled before the jury could deliberate...or Buddy could defecate. Ah, the sweet smell of justice.
