Wednesday's Irish Times reported, "Text messaging, with its use of phonetic spelling and little or no punctuation, seems to pose a threat to traditional conventions in writing."
Someone seems to have forgotten that language is alive and constantly evolving. It's no surprise that communication trends would mirror society's shift toward informality.
The Irish study dug further into irrelevance, noting text-messengers were "unduly reliant on short sentences, simple tenses and a limited vocabulary."
For blarney's sake! They're typing on a 1-square-inch screen... without a keyboard...while on the go. What did you expect? War and Peace?
